Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss!

Dr. Seuss was born on this day in 1904 — so today we celebrate what would have been his 112th birthday. I’ve loved Dr. Seuss since I was a very little girl. And, he has a special place in our family, too. So, today, the boys and I are sharing our favorite Dr. Seuss books:

Favorite Dr. Seuss book:Wacky Wednesday
Why it’s my favorite: It’s wacky and I’m wacky.
Favorite line: “It all began with a shoe on the wall. A shoe on the wall shouldn’t be there at all.”

Favorite Dr. Seuss book: Are You My Mother? (But I also love 10 Apples Up on Top and One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish)
Why it’s my favorite: He asks everyone if they are his mother.
Favorite line: “Are you my mother?” – when he asks the chicken

Favorite Dr. Seuss book:
Green Eggs and Ham
Why it’s my favorite: I loved it so much as a child that it “disappeared” somehow. (Thanks, Mom!) I love that he challenged himself to write using only 50 words.
Favorite line: “I do so like green eggs and ham. Thank you. Thank you, Sam-I-Am.”
